FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Official Statement from Rob "Rush" Ruszkowski, candidate in the Georgia 14th Congressional District special election. The United States is now involved in a war with Iran. And Congress still has not authorized it.

Rising Fawn, Georgia  March 5th, 2026

On March 4th, the United States Senate voted on a War Powers Resolution that would have required congressional approval before the United States could continue this unauthorized war with Iran.

That resolution failed.

The vote fell largely along party lines, leaving the President free to continue military operations even though Congress has not declared war.

That should concern every American.

The Constitution is clear: the power to declare war belongs to Congress — not the President.

The Founders placed that authority in the legislative branch specifically to prevent any single leader from dragging the nation into war without the consent of the American people.

Congress had an opportunity to assert that authority.

It failed.

Instead of rising above party politics to defend the Constitution, Washington once again demonstrated how dysfunctional both the Democratic and Republican parties have become when it comes to one of the most serious responsibilities government has — deciding when Americans go to war.

The administration has said the U.S. strike was carried out after Israel launched its own pre-emptive attack on Iran, and that American action was taken partly out of concern that Iran might retaliate against U.S. forces or interests.

However, according to multiple media reports citing officials briefed on U.S. intelligence, lawmakers were told that intelligence agencies had no indication Iran was preparing a pre-emptive attack on the United States before the strikes occurred.

Decisions that could lead to war should be based on verified intelligence and debated openly in Congress — not speculation or assumptions.

Americans have seen what happens when intelligence surrounding war is rushed or misrepresented.

In 2003, the United States was led into the Iraq War based on claims that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction.

Those weapons were never found.

The result was a war that cost trillions of dollars, destabilized an entire region, and cost thousands of American lives.

That history should make every American cautious when new wars are justified without clear evidence and without Congress fully debating the facts.

Sending American troops into combat should never be treated as a partisan issue.

It is a constitutional duty.

If American lives are going to be placed at risk and billions of taxpayer dollars committed to another Middle East war, Congress must debate it openly and vote on it.

And there is another reality Americans need to understand.

Wars like this do not just cost lives overseas.

They cost trillions of dollars.

The Iraq War alone ultimately cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars.

Imagine what that kind of investment could have meant for communities across Northwest Georgia and the 14th District.

Better infrastructure.
Lower energy costs.
Support for farmers and small businesses.
More resources for veterans.
Lower taxes for working families.

Instead, when wars escalate, families here often feel the impact immediately.

Instability in the Middle East drives up oil prices.

Higher oil prices lead to higher gasoline prices.

Higher fuel costs increase transportation costs.

Transportation costs drive up the price of food, goods, and services.

That means working families, farmers, truck drivers, and small businesses in Northwest Georgia often end up paying the price.

Congress attempted to act on March 4th — and failed.

That cannot be the end of the story.

Congress must continue pushing to reclaim its constitutional authority under the War Powers Resolution.

The American people deserve transparency, accountability, and a voice through their elected representatives before our nation commits to another costly war.

No President — Republican or Democrat — should have the power to wage war without Congress.

The Constitution must come before politics.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski Calls for Immediate Federal Pause on Artificial General Intelligence Development and AI Data Center Expansion

Rising Fawn, Georgia — February 23, 2026

Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski, Independent candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 14th District, is calling for an immediate federal halt on the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), autonomous AI agents, and the rapid expansion of AI mega-data centers across the United States.

Ruszkowski cited growing warnings from leading AI executives that advanced AI systems may outpace human control — combined with mounting strain on America’s already fragile infrastructure.

“Humanity is about to be handed almost unimaginable power, and it is deeply unclear whether our social, political, and technological systems possess the maturity to wield it,” warned Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei.

Ruszkowski says that statement alone demands immediate action.

“When the very CEOs building this technology admit we may not be mature enough to control it, that’s not innovation — that’s Russian roulette with civilization.”

A One-in-Six Risk Is Not Acceptable

Multiple AI researchers have publicly acknowledged measurable probabilities of catastrophic outcomes from uncontrolled AGI systems.

“If credible experts are discussing even a one-in-six chance of civilizational collapse, that risk is unacceptable,” Ruszkowski said. “We regulate nuclear weapons. We regulate biological weapons. AGI belongs in that same category of oversight.”

AGI refers to systems capable of reasoning, strategizing, and acting autonomously at or beyond human-level intelligence. Once operational, such systems may operate beyond meaningful human oversight.

Infrastructure Crisis: Power, Water, and Cost of Living

Ruszkowski emphasized that beyond existential concerns, AI expansion is already imposing real-world burdens on American communities.

Massive AI data centers require extraordinary amounts of electricity and water for cooling and operation. Many are being constructed in regions with aging power grids and limited infrastructure capacity.

“Our power grid is antiquated. It is already strained. We are seeing brownouts, grid instability, and deferred maintenance across the country,” Ruszkowski said. “Adding energy-intensive AI centers without modernizing infrastructure first is reckless.”

He continued:

“Energy demand from these facilities is driving up electricity costs for working families. People are struggling to pay their power bills while billion-dollar AI campuses consume the equivalent electricity of small cities.”

Ruszkowski is calling for:

• A temporary federal pause on new AI data center construction
• A national infrastructure impact assessment of existing AI facilities
• Public transparency regarding water usage and grid strain
• Protections to prevent AI expansion from inflating residential energy costs
• Infrastructure modernization before any large-scale AI expansion proceeds

“No American family should see their electric bill rise so a handful of corporations can chase technological supremacy,” he said.

Not Anti-AI — Anti-Oligarchy

Ruszkowski made clear he is not calling for a shutdown of current AI tools used productively.

“I support responsible AI that assists medicine, research, logistics, and productivity. But crossing into Artificial General Intelligence and autonomous agents capable of independent strategic action is fundamentally different.”

“This technology was built on humanity’s collective knowledge. It does not belong to a small group of billionaires racing each other for dominance.”

If It’s National Security — Why Is It Private?

National leaders have acknowledged that advanced AI is a matter of national security.

“If this technology has existential and national security implications, why is it controlled by private corporations?” Ruszkowski asked. “Why are unelected executives determining the future of civilization?”

He is calling for:

• An immediate federal pause on AGI development
• A halt to autonomous AI agents capable of independent strategic action
• Congressional hearings under oath with AI executives
• A national security review of AGI-level research
• Development of a democratic federal regulatory framework
• Serious consideration of public or national oversight of AGI research

A Democratic Future — Not a Machine-Dominated One

“This is not science fiction,” Ruszkowski said. “The builders of this technology are warning us themselves.”

“The decision to create something potentially more intelligent than humanity must not be made in private boardrooms. It must be made democratically — or not at all.”

“We will not gamble the human race. And we will not sacrifice our infrastructure, our power grid, and our families’ livelihoods for unchecked technological ambition.”

Statement on Executive Tariffs and Supreme Court Authority

Rising Fawn, GA — February 23, 2026

Last week the United States Supreme Court made clear what the Constitution already says:
The power to levy tariffs belongs to Congress.

That is not partisan.
That is not political.
That is constitutional.

The response from President Donald Trump was not to respect the Court’s ruling — but to threaten an additional 15% global tariff in defiance of it.

That should concern every American — whether you support him or not.

This is not about trade policy.
This is about separation of powers.

Our Founders did not create a king.
They created a system of checks and balances so no one person could control taxation, trade, war, and enforcement power at the same time.

If a president can ignore the Supreme Court when it is inconvenient, then we no longer have co-equal branches of government.

And I want to speak directly — respectfully — to the millions of Americans who have supported President Trump.

You are not foolish.
You are not evil.
You are not the problem.

Many of you believed he would fight for working Americans.
Many of you believed he would challenge corruption.
Many of you believed he would put America first.

But loyalty to a person can never override loyalty to the Constitution.

If any president — Republican or Democrat — ignores constitutional limits, that is not strength. That is executive overreach.

We are also watching escalating rhetoric toward Iran, destabilizing foreign policy decisions, and cuts to international aid programs that have historically prevented famine and global instability. When American leadership becomes impulsive rather than strategic, the risk of wider conflict increases.

Constitutional guardrails exist precisely to prevent that.

This moment is bigger than party.

It is about whether we remain a constitutional republic — or drift toward government by one man’s will.

Admitting that a leader went too far is not weakness.
It is civic maturity.

Our country has corrected course before.
We can do so again.

I am calling on members of Congress — including Republicans — to reassert their constitutional authority over trade policy immediately.

This is not about revenge.
It is about restoring balance.

I’m Rob Rush, and I am running for Congress because the Constitution must come before party — always.

Georgia Independent Candidate Calls for Transparency After FBI Seizure of Fulton County Election Records

Rising Fawn, GA — February 5, 2026

Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski, an independent candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 14th District, is urging transparency and voter protections following the FBI’s January seizure of Fulton County’s 2020 election materials.

Federal agents removed hundreds of boxes of ballots and election records under a sealed warrant, prompting Fulton County officials to challenge the seizure in federal court and seek disclosure of the legal basis for the action.

“When election materials are taken behind closed doors, voters deserve answers — not silence,” Ruszkowski said. “Confidence in elections depends on openness, lawful process, and respect for Georgia’s authority to administer its own elections.”

Election officials and legal experts have raised concerns that removing ballots from secured county facilities without clear public explanation could undermine chain-of-custody protections and public trust.

Ruszkowski also warned against political rhetoric suggesting federal control of elections, calling it “a direct threat to voter confidence and local election administration.”

“Georgians deserve fair, accessible elections — not fear, secrecy, or federal overreach,” he said. “We should be strengthening trust, not tearing it down.”

Ruszkowski is calling on officials to:

  • Release the legal justification for the seizure
  • Guarantee the integrity and security of all seized materials
  • Protect voters from improper purges or intimidation
  • Reaffirm Georgia’s authority over its elections

Voter registration for the March 10, 2026 special election closes February 9.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Renée Good & Alex Pretti: A Call for Accountability

Rising Fawn, GA — January 26, 2026

Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski, independent candidate for U.S. Congress in Georgia’s 14th District, today issued a statement responding to the fatal shootings of two U.S. citizens — Renée Good and Alex Pretti — during federal immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“The deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti have shaken public trust and raised urgent questions about accountability, transparency, and the use of federal power,” Rob Rush said. “At a time when Americans already feel divided and uneasy, these events demand serious reflection — not defensiveness, and not silence.”

Following the September 11 attacks, Congress created the Department of Homeland Security and its enforcement components to strengthen border security and protect the public. Over time, however, Rob Rush says parts of that system — including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) — have expanded their operations in ways that increasingly affect U.S. citizens and lawful community activity.

“We’ve seen repeated controversies, court challenges, and civil liberties concerns surrounding federal enforcement tactics,” Rob Rush said. “Strong border security and real public safety are essential — but they must never come at the expense of constitutional rights or community trust.”

Rob "Rush" Ruszkowski called for a full examination of current federal immigration enforcement practices, including the scope of authority, use-of-force standards, oversight mechanisms, and accountability when U.S. citizens are harmed.

“If agencies can be meaningfully reformed, they should be,” he said. “If they cannot, then restructuring — or replacement — must be on the table. Government exists to serve the people, not to frighten them.”

Bottom line, Rob Rush emphasized:
“Protecting our borders and protecting our communities must never mean turning government power against the people.”

Rob "Rush" Ruszkowski Officially Qualifies for Georgia's 14th Congressional District Special Election

Only Independent Candidate in the Race Signals Early Midterm Challenge to Two-Party Politics

Georgia — Rising Fawn, GA | [01/14/2026]

Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski has officially qualified for the March 10, 2026 special election for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, securing his place on the ballot as the only independent candidate in the race.

With qualification complete, Rob Rush's campaign moves immediately into a full public phase—focused on voter engagement, decentralized grassroots action, and a people-powered message aimed at restoring accountability, restraint, and trust in government.

“This race gives voters a rare opportunity to send an early midterm message that they’re done with rigid party loyalty and want leadership that answers to people, not parties,” Rush said. “Being the only independent in this race matters—because independence is how you break corruption, not manage it.”

The Georgia 14th District seat has been nationally visible in recent years due to political polarization. Rob "Rush" Ruszkowski’s candidacy offers voters an alternative rooted in peace-first foreign policy, democratic accountability, and citizen-driven governance, without corporate money, PAC funding, or party control.

Among his core positions:

  • Peace-first foreign policy, opposing aggressive wars unless the United States or a NATO ally has been attacked first
  • Resistance to Corporate, special-interest and foreign influence in U.S. policymaking, regardless of country or party
  • Breaking the two-party stranglehold by restoring voter trust through independent representation

The special election occurs early in the 2026 midterm cycle, giving the district an opportunity to influence the national political conversation months ahead of November.

Voter registration for the special election closes February 9, 2026, with Election Day set for March 10, 2026.

(Approved for on-the-record use)

On the Economy & Cost of Living

“The cost-of-living crisis isn’t happening by accident. It’s happening because corporate oligarchies and special interests are allowed to rig markets — and because political influence too often outweighs the public interest.”

“An economy should reward work, not wealth extraction. If you work hard, play by the rules, and contribute to your community, you should be able to afford a home, healthcare, and a future.”

“Northwest Georgia doesn’t need trickle-down promises — we need local manufacturing, fair wages, and investments that stay rooted in our communities, not siphoned off to Wall Street.”

On Healthcare & Wellness

“We don’t have a healthcare system — we have a profit-and-influence system. When corporate power and special interests write the rules, sickness becomes a business and families pay the price.”

“Healthcare is not a privilege reserved for the wealthy — it’s a human right. No one in America should go bankrupt because they got sick.”

“Rural communities deserve the same level of care as big cities — fast emergency access, strong hospitals, and mental-health services close to home.”

On Government Accountability & Corruption

“When corporate power, special interests, and foreign-aligned money can buy access, policy stops serving people. Corruption isn’t a side effect — it’s the business model.”

“Public service was never meant to be a lifetime career or a stock-trading opportunity — it’s a temporary trust granted by the people.”

“If billionaires can buy elections, the people no longer have a voice. Democracy only works when voters matter more than donors.”

On Foreign Policy, Peace & Veterans

“Endless war isn’t about security — it’s about profit and influence. When defense contractors, lobbyists, and foreign pressures benefit from conflict, diplomacy never gets a fair chance.”

“Real strength comes from restraint, diplomacy, and respect for human life — not endless wars or pressure from foreign governments or special interests.”

“America should lead by example, not by endless war. Our strength is measured by how many lives we save, not how many wars we fight.”

“If we can afford war, we can afford to make sure no one who served — and no one who didn’t — is left without healthcare, housing, or dignity.”

On Housing & Homelessness

“Housing is a human right. In the richest country in the world, no one — not veterans, not workers, not seniors, not families — should be homeless.”

“Homelessness isn’t inevitable — it’s a policy failure shaped by profit incentives and political influence. When housing is treated as a commodity instead of a human right, people fall through the cracks.”

On Environment, Energy & Public Health

“Pollution persists because cleaning it up threatens powerful interests. When corporate profit and political influence override public health, communities get poisoned and nobody is held accountable.”

“Clean energy isn’t just about climate — it’s about independence, good local jobs, and lower costs for families.”

On Civil & Constitutional Rights

“Rights erode when power concentrates. Corporate influence, special-interest pressure, and foreign interference don’t just distort markets — they distort equal protection and the public’s voice.”

“Justice should never depend on your zip code, your income, or who you love. Equal rights mean equal protection — no exceptions.”

“Real public safety comes from accountability, de-escalation, and community trust — not fear and impunity.”

On Children, Families & the Digital Age

“Children are being targeted because their attention is profitable. If protecting kids hurts corporate revenue, the kids lose — unless we step in.”

“Children deserve time to learn, grow, and develop free from addictive technologies designed to exploit their attention.”

“I support phone-free school days for all K–12 students, a minimum social-media age of 16, and strong protections against addictive algorithms for minors — with enforcement placed on corporate platforms, not parents or children.”

On Democracy & Voting

“Democracy weakens when money and influence speak louder than voters — whether it’s corporate donors, special interests, or foreign-aligned spending.”

“Democracy only works when people participate and know their voices matter.”

On Small Business & Fair Competition

“Small businesses aren’t failing because they lack effort — they’re being crushed by concentrated corporate power and political influence that rigs the rules.”

“Main Street should never have to compete with corporate balance sheets designed to wipe out

local businesses.”

On AI, Automation & the Future of Work

“If technology creates massive wealth while workers are displaced, that’s not progress — it’s exploitation by design, enabled when policy is shaped by powerful interests instead of working people.”

“Technology should lift people up, not push them aside. If automation creates wealth, that wealth must be shared.”

On Independence & Campaign Approach

“I don’t belong to a party — I belong to the people. My loyalty is to everyday families who feel ignored by politics as usual.”

“This is a people-powered campaign. No corporations, no PACs, no party bosses — just voters who want fairness and accountability.”

On the Unifying Theme of the Campaign

“Too many crises we face — from healthcare to housing to war — go unresolved because real solutions threaten powerful corporate interests, entrenched special interests, or foreign influence. This campaign exists to put people and the public interest first.”

🧭 Core Principles of the Campaign (Media Summary)

Rob "Rush" Ruszkowski’s campaign is grounded in a simple idea:
