Georgia's 14th Electric Fusion Future - Economy & Job's

Georgia’s 14th Deserves a Brighter Future

FUSION IS THE FUTURE — NOW — FOR THE 14TH

We don’t have to choose between progress and preserving what we love.
We can power our homes, protect our land, and build opportunity —
without losing the small-town spirit that makes the 14th special.

🌄 Fusion is the Future — Now — for the 14th

For decades, Georgia’s 14th Congressional District has powered this state.

We’ve grown food.
We’ve built industry.
We’ve worked hard

But when it came time for real investment — real innovation — real future planning — we were left behind.

Atlanta didn’t prioritize us.
Washington didn’t prioritize us.

And the industries that were placed here often came with pollution, environmental damage, and limited long-term growth.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

⚡ Why Fusion? Why Electrification?

The world is moving toward electrification.

Transportation is electrifying.

Manufacturing is electrifying.

Data infrastructure is electrifying.

And the next frontier is fusion energy — clean, stable, scalable power.

Fusion is not coal.

It is not gas.

It is not pollution.

It represents:

• High-tech jobs
• Infrastructure investment
• Grid modernization
• Long-term economic stability

And Georgia’s 14th is positioned perfectly to prepare for that future.

🌱 Preserving What Makes Us, Us

Progress does not mean urban sprawl.

Progress does not mean tearing down small towns.

Progress does not mean replacing farmland with concrete.

What it means is:

• Modernized electrical infrastructure
• Local microgrids
• Cleaner manufacturing standards
• Regenerative farming support
• Cleaning up PFAS contamination
• Reducing glyphosate dependency

We can protect our rivers.
We can protect our soil.
We can protect our rural identity.

And we can step confidently into the 21st century — without losing our soul.

🛠 What This Looks Like in Practice

• Investment in grid modernization across rural counties

• Support for clean electrification industries

• Attracting advanced energy research partnerships

• Federal support for PFAS remediation

• Incentives for regenerative agriculture

• Workforce training for next-generation energy careers

This is not about replacing people.
It’s about expanding opportunity.

🌅 A New Day for the 14th

We are not behind.
We are early.

We are not forgotten.
We are rising.

Fusion is the future — now — for the 14th.

And together, we will build it.

🔵 Fusion Future How Fusion Energy Works — And When It’s Really Coming What Is Nuclear Fusion?

Fusion is the process that powers the sun.

Instead of splitting heavy atoms (like nuclear fission plants do today), fusion combines light atoms — releasing enormous amounts of energy.

The most developed form of fusion uses two forms of hydrogen:

  • Deuterium (found naturally in seawater)

  • Tritium (produced from lithium inside the reactor)

When they fuse:

Deuterium + Tritium → Helium + Neutron + Energy

That energy is captured as heat and converted into electricity.

.

Where Does the Fuel Come From?

  • Deuterium is extracted from water.

  • Tritium is bred from lithium inside the reactor.

There is enough deuterium in Earth’s oceans to power civilization for millions of years.

And the fuel required is astonishingly small:

A 400-megawatt fusion plant would consume less than a couple of tons of fuel per year — not millions of tons like coal.

In terms of burned fuel, the amount is measured in tens of kilograms per year.

That’s why you often hear the phrase:

“A year’s worth of fusion fuel could fit in the back of a pickup truck.”

That statement is essentially true.

How Does a Fusion Reactor Actually Work?

Fusion requires three things:

  1. Extremely high temperatures
    — about 100–150 million degrees Celsius (hotter than the sun’s core)

  2. Strong magnetic confinement
    — powerful superconducting magnets keep the plasma from touching the reactor walls

  3. Energy input to start the reaction
    — external heating systems bring the plasma to fusion temperature

Once the plasma is hot and dense enough, fusion reactions release energy. That energy becomes heat, which:

  • Boils water

  • Spins a turbine

  • Generates electricity

Early fusion plants will look similar to other large thermal power plants — except they won’t burn fuel or emit carbon.

What About Hydrogen-Boron Fusion?

Some companies are pursuing an advanced version called hydrogen-boron fusion.

Instead of producing high-energy neutrons, it produces mostly charged helium particles.

In theory, that energy could be converted directly into electricity without steam turbines — potentially increasing efficiency and reducing waste.

But hydrogen-boron fusion requires much more extreme conditions and is likely further from commercialization.

What Are the Energy Inputs?

Fusion is not “free energy.”

To initiate and sustain fusion:

  • Large magnetic systems must be powered

  • Plasma heating systems inject energy

  • Cryogenic systems keep magnets superconducting

  • Tritium breeding systems must operate reliably

The challenge is achieving:

Net energy gain — where the reactor produces more energy than it consumes.

Major scientific milestones have already demonstrated net energy gain in experimental conditions.

The next step is engineering plants that can operate continuously and economically.

Realistic Timeline for Grid Deployment

Here is what serious roadmaps suggest:

  • Mid-2030s: First commercial demonstration plants connected to the grid

  • Late-2030s to 2040s: Early fleet deployments

  • 2040s+: Cost reductions through scale and manufacturing

Fusion is no longer science fiction.
But it is also not an overnight solution.

It requires:

  • Materials breakthroughs

  • Tritium breeding success

  • Industrial manufacturing capability

  • Regulatory clarity

Why Fusion Matters

Fusion energy would provide:

  • Carbon-free baseload electricity

  • No meltdown risk

  • No long-lived nuclear waste

  • Minimal fuel transport

  • Massive energy density

It is one of the few technologies capable of powering an advanced society without fossil fuels while maintaining reliability.

A Responsible Vision for the Future

Fusion should not be sold as magic.

It should be developed responsibly, transparently, and competitively.

America should lead in:

  • Fusion manufacturing

  • Fusion research

  • Fusion workforce training

  • Grid modernization to support advanced power plants

The fusion future is not about hype.

It is about disciplined engineering, national investment, and long-term thinking
