About Me and My Community

My name is Rob Rush. I was born Robert Anthony Joseph Ruszkowski, the son of second-generation immigrants from Tapani/Palarmo Italy on the Island of Sicily & Austria/Poland, and I’m proud to call Georgia my home since 1990. I grew up in a close-knit, loving family in Plainview, New York—a place where holidays meant crowded homes, big meals, and bigger hearts.

After graduating from Hofstra University in 1988 with a degree in finance, I moved to Georgia in 1990 and launched my first business in 1991 with nothing but $10,000 and a relentless work ethic. I built it into a five-location operation in Gwinnett County, creating jobs and opportunity. But I’ve also known heartbreak and failure—through the collapse of businesses, the strain of caregiving, the unraveling of my marriage, and the emotional pain of becoming estranged from the daughter I love with all my heart.

Despite the challenges, I’ve never lost faith in the power of human connection and the value of service. I’ve been a caregiver to my aging parents ( 2005-2017 ) , a small business owner, a devoted father, and a grassroots campaigner for peace and democracy.

Why I’m Running

Our district has been forgotten by politicians who seek attention over results. While the world faces the dangers of new wars abroad and deportations at home, we need real leadership—grounded in compassion, experience, and common sense.

I'm not backed by billionaires or big PACs. I’m running to restore integrity and service to public office. We need jobs, not drama. Clean air, water & uncontaminated fertile Land, not culture wars. We need real Healthcare ( especially Mental Health Care), not Sickcare. We need Living wages & Broadband, not headlines.

I’m running because our children deserve a future where democracy is strong, opportunity is real, and our representatives put people first. I'm running because I still believe in US — and I believe it’s time we had a representative who shows up for the people of Georgia’s 14th District.

I’m Rob Rush, a lifelong fighter for justice, truth, and the people who are too often forgotten. I've lived in Rising Fawn, Georgia since 2018 ( Located in Dade County in Extreme NW Georgia )— a name that perfectly reflects the values I stand for. Just like a young deer rising at dawn, this moment calls for humility, courage, and renewed hope. I’m not running to climb the political ladder—I’m running to restore integrity, protect democracy, and lift up the working families of Northwest Georgia. From the peaceful hills of Rising Fawn to the halls of Congress, I’m bringing a new spirit of leadership that listens more than it lectures and serves more than it shouts.
